Defining Treatment
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are university-trained, AHPRA-registered health professionals with a core focus on movement, pain management, and functional independence. We look beyond single symptoms to understand how your entire body works together.
At New Edge Health, our approach combines evidence-based hands-on therapy with specific clinical exercise and expert advice. Whether you are managing chronic pain or recovering from a recent injury, our goal is to provide you with the tools and strategies to recover effectively and prevent future issues.
What To Expect At Your First Appointment
We take a structured approach to get you from pain to performance. Here is how we start.
01
History & examination
We listen to your story and conduct a physical assessment to understand the root cause of your symptoms.
02
Explanation & plan
Clear answers on what is wrong, how long it will take to recover, and a specific roadmap for your treatment.
03
Something to start today
Whether it is hands-on treatment or initial exercises, you will leave with a clear starting point for relief.
What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that allows us to see the area being treated (e.g. shorts for a knee). Bring any relevant scans or referral letters.
Our Methodology
We focus on outcomes rather than fixed appointments. Our approach is designed to get you back to your best and keep you there.
Review Points
We don't use fixed Physiotherapy session counts or 'blocks'. Instead, we identify clear review points in your treatment plan. This ensures your care is adapted to your progress, shifting focus between hands-on treatment and movement as you improve.
Supervised Loading
Recovery often requires moving beyond the treatment table. Our on-site gymnasium allows for supervised loading, bridge exercise programs, and clinical strength training. Having the tools where we treat means we know exactly how much you can safely do.
